December 2007

It’s been a while since I wrote something here…I have to make a whole review of December and it’s pretty difficult, but nice to remember. I’ll come up with some pictures later just to complete my December blog statement.

So …hmmm….December 2007

We started out with our National day on the 1st of December, but I can’t remember what I’ve done back than, I just know that it was on a Saturday and so we didn’t get a free day from work this year. Oh…I remembered. I went to Krishna with Ana and Sever and than I met with Jean and I wanted to see the biggest Christmas tree in Europe. It was an extremely bad idea, because, what do you know, everybody wanted to see the big Christmas tree. I never saw such a big crowd in my life. They didn’t stop the traffic and so it was a big mixture of cars and people, nobody paid attention to the tree they all just wanted to escape the crowded area.
I had a lot to do at work this month because it’s the holiday season and we have to send branded gifts to our clients and employees and it was pretty difficult for me to keep up with all the work. But I think it turned out ok considering the fact that I only got little help from Daniela. We also had to prepare our Christmas party. But this time it wasn’t completely my responsibility. It turned out pretty well and I enjoyed it a lot. This year we chose the National Military House. They have some pretty nice meeting rooms there. I met with some people I knew from Andantino and it was cool….except for one thing. I had to wear high heels and my feet were killing me.

At school I stared my exams this month. On the 11th I had my first one and I got an 8. I think it’s a pretty good start considering the fact that I didn’t even know what the teacher looked like. But it was a pretty interesting subject and I learned, not a lot, but as much as I can in one day. I only had two till now, and I have 5 more in January. I hope, I pray to pass all of them because I really want to enter that Master’s program in Denmark. I kinnda miss school and everything but I think working is a bit more important than going to school at the moment. I love seeing all my year mates…though I think I only know half of them.

Now, getting to the “How I spent my holidays part?” I can say I had better. Let’s start with Thursday the 20th, when I got caught without a ticket on the bus, after freezing in the city trying to find some nice gifts with the little money I had in my pocket. But it was ok, I was so cold I could not get mad at anyone. I was extremely calm, I could not believe myself. They said I would get a ticket at home in 48 hours but nothing happened till now and I know it’s been more than 48 hours. Than on the 21st I went gift shopping with Ja. Clumsy as always he bought a pair on snickers for his cousin and he got one shoe 43 and one shoe 44…..brilliant…we had to go back in the freezing cold and exchange them. But the day ended smoothly because I slept at Ja. The next day we went to Pietrosita…and we had a two days movie marathon, we exchanged gifts and lots of other nice family stuff. We took some really nice pictures with the snow and the dogs.

I spent the Christmas day with my family. My cousin, Sergiu came to visit. I haven’t seen him in a while so it was a nice surprise for me. I really missed him a lot.

But than again yesterday was by far the creepiest day of the year. After I met Irina, after such a long time, we went through a real adventure. We went from bar to bar the whole day till we met with her sister and some friends. At night we decided to go see Ana dance but we didn’t stay for such a long time. We were pretty tired and we decided to go home, most of all because Treminus was really expensive and we had nowhere to stay. When we left, Coco promised to take us home one by one because he had a car. After we dropped off Claudiu we were heading towards Ja to drop me. But than at a stop sign….BAMMMM!!!!!.....a coach bus hit us. The impact has so strong that we went into the car in front of us and that car in the car in front of it. Me and Irina were in the back so we practically felt the hit stronger than anyone else. It was glass flying all over my head and the front chairs went down. The back doors were both blocked and we couldn’t get out so we jumped through the front ones. At that moment I basically didn’t feel anything, I was in complete shock. My whole body was shacking and I got really scared when I looked at Irina and saw her lip bleeding a little. I didn’t even realize what happened until I saw the coach behind us. Just than I felt the pain in my knee and the back of my head. Irina was really dizzy but we were pretty ok. Everybody else was ok, except for the cars of course which looked like a big pile of metal. We didn’t know what to do, everybody was yelling at everybody and nobody knew what to do. They all decided to go to the police station and I, Irina and Ana (her sister) went to the hospital. Ja came and picked us up from there with a cab. We went to the hospital, to the emergency room. It was a really grim picture, people bleeding and police all over. I’ve never been there before and I hope I’ll never ever do that again. Anyway the doctors were really nice (this is something that really amazed me). They told me I’m ok, but I will have head aches for a while, but I’ll be ok. Irina was ok too. Still I couldn’t sleep at all. All I could hear was the car crashing, people fighting and the sound in the hospital. The Police didn’t get a statement from me, but they found Irina and asked her some questions. Maybe after New Year I’ll get a call at the Police station too.

So today I’m at work, a little tired but I am ok. In two days we have to leave for the mountains. I am a little scared because we will be driving for a long time. But I hope I’ll get to relax there and forget about everything and end this year in a nice way.

Family time

Yesterday I went to my cousins wedding. Well it wasn't actually a wedding it was just the legal part of the marriage. Next summer they will have the religious part too, with the real wedding and everything. Still they threw a party with the whole family and some friends. I was so excited for my cousin I almost cried when she said "I DO".... She is my "best friend - cousin" so I love her more than a lot. I am very proud she finally found the right guy for the job :)...I hope they will be happy.... and they will make beautiful little cousins for me to play with.... just like her brother did :)

Saturday

Yesterday I had a full day. In the morning I went to SIAB 2007 to check out some cars. Unfortunately it took us 2 hours to get there....and 2 hours to get back. And I don't think it was that worth it. It was extremely crowded and the AC wasn't working PLUS there wasn't really anything special to see.

But thenn.......it the evening we went to the Muse concert. My boss gave me two tickets because we were in charge with the security of the concert so he got some. It was awesome....we could stay anywhere and everywhere...and the show was great...they had some great screen projections....too bad I didn’t have a better camera with me :(

B 52

This weekend we went to B52, our favourite club in Bucharest. Next weekend Irina is leaving for Italy, on her ERASMUS scholarship so this was like the last time we went together this year. She will be back next spring but hopefully we'll see eachother on New Years to spend it together, because it became a tradition for us :). Of course we danced all night long and drank...maybe more than it was necessary to, but no incidents occurred. I will miss her so much...and even if we fight some times she knows I love her and she's my bestest friend...I understand her and I hope she understands me too.

I hope this trip she's taking it will be worth it, and she'll learn Italian and have fun.

Cheers to us!

Animal Cruelty

Yesterday I was shocked by they case of a kitty, killed in Bucharest by some teenagers. I cannot believe the world I'm living in. I'm tired of stray animals....I'm tired of seeing them suffer because of the stupidity of people. Why is this happening when it's not necessary? I couldn't sleep all night because I only thought about the poor kitty...I know this sounds crazy but it was if I could feel her pain, especially because I saw the movie the stupid kids have taken, where she was helplessly crying for help.

So today I wrote PETA and told them everything, even though I'm sure they know about the situation here in Romania. I don't know why, but knowing that they are like The Thing when it comes to animal cruelty cases, I hoped for a positive response. But instead I was very disappointed when I got the reply. They said they don't have enough staff in Europe and projects to deal with the problems of every country and they recommended me to check out a website with different Romanian animal organisations. I did that, but I think they didn't check the list themselves in a while, because some of the organizations don't exist anymore. Out of 20 or 30 only 5 to 10 still help animals here in Romania. This is a small number for a country with such a big problem.

Till then, I just signed this petition through which I agree with an Animal Police in Romania:

I can be such a bitch with my friends.

I don’t answer my cell phone, just sometimes.

I’m a jerk, but a nice one.

I rather have a boy than a girl as a friend.
